Packing Liquids

I’m feeling a little better today.  Although last night I coughed so hard I thought I was going to throw up.  I have been trying to drink lots of liquids and hopefully I will pee this sickness out.

I got 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep last night!  Hallelujah!  I took some Theraflu before I went to bed and it knocked me out.  I’m guessing Hanna didn’t cry, or at least I didn’t hear it?  She seemed happy this morning so it couldn’t have been that bad.  I have got new arsenal on the cold front:

I really only get about 1 cold a year and it is at about the same time every year.  It must have something to do with traveling.  I am loading up on Kombucha tea to make this nasty sickness go away, and I felt so good today that I might try going to the gym tomorrow for a light workout.  I think Hanna misses going to the kid’s club and she is stir crazy!

I am taking this time to focus on my eating and I’m happy to report that I started tracking my food today on The Daily Plate.  I have been eating a lot of fresh fruits and veggies and I think it is aiding in my recovery of the holidays.  Yes, there will be a weigh in tomorrow!  I am also trying to plan and find some good recipe’s for the 21 Day Vegan Kick Start that starts on January 2!  I’ve been trying to eat less dairy in preparation for this challenge.  I’ve gone a whole 2 days without eggs and have replaced it with oatmeal.  I already feel a little better just after two days of decent eating.  Weird.

What is your best remedy for a cold?
How sick do you have to be to NOT go to the gym?  I will usually go unless I have a bad cough or if it’s the flu.

Back Home, Back On Track

Just in case you’re wondering, Hanna’s 1st birthday party was a good time!

This was the one good shot of her and some cake!

Holy Cow!  My baby is one and now it is time to really get crackin’ on my health and fitness goals!  My vacation was fun and relaxing (for the most part) and now it is time to get back on the weight loss saddle!  My goals didn’t get past the first day of being with family, but that’s ok!  I knew going into a vacation that there were definite triggers for overeating and indulgence, and the important thing is that I get back on track on Monday.

So here’s the situation:  Weight Watchers is out.  We had some good times and those first 25 pounds were hard-earned.  I love the Weight Watchers system and I believe it works, but the Points Plus system has too much freedom for a person like me.  I loved being able to weigh in in front of somebody, but I am also held VERY accountable by all of my blogosphere friends (you!).

Body bugg is in!  I should have my armband by next week, and I am so excited to be trying this system.  I have heard so many good things about it that I can hardly wait until it gets here!

Some Exciting Things!!!!!

“The New Rules of Lifting for Women”  Phase 4 Starts on Monday!!!!!  I have felt such a huge difference in the first 3 phases, I can’t wait to see what Phase 4 brings!!!

Some changes in Weigh in Day:  Since I won’t be going to Weight Watchers I am going to be figuring out a new day for weigh in day.  Most likely it will be Wednesday, I figure it is a good balance.  Check the weigh in tab for the next scheduled weigh in.

My First Guest Post!!!!!  If you’re stopping by from Faith, Fitness, Fun, HELLO!  THANKS FOR STOPPING BY!  I hope you’ll check out a few of my favorite posts, it will help you to get to know me better!  Or Leave a comment so I can get to know you better!  And to all of my loyal readers: Check out Tina over at FFF!  Her blog is addicting, honest, and fun!  That, and she is just a super fun person!

Goals for this next week will be short and to the point:

  • Drink 100 oz’s of water a day
  • Go to the gym 6 times this week
  • Track calories on Livestrong’s The Daily Plate until Body Bugg arrives
I don’t want to overwhelm myself after getting back home, so these are things I was doing before vacation, and I should fall right back in the habit.  Realistic goals are the only way to succeed!
  • What is a goal that you have this next week?
  • Are you a new reader stopping by from FFF?  Leave me a shout out new friend!

Perfection Challenge: Day 3 Stat’s

I get a little nervous on rest days that I will go over my points/calories, but I was very pleased at the end of the day that after being careful and weighing and measuring all of my food I came in just under 1500 calories and 6 points to spare.  I got a little tempted at dinner (because I made roast beef & mashed potatoes), but after weighing all of my food it looked like the quantities would be satisfying.  And now I am plenty full so I am glad I didn’t let my eyes get bigger than my stomach.

Here is how today rounded out:

Breakfast

Lunch

Snack

Dinner

Macro Stat’s

Once again, a little heavy on the carbs, but my protein was spot on for my weight lifting schedule.

Healthy Checks

Hmmm.  No dairy today, weird.

Great day of eating and now I am anxious to get back to the gym tomorrow morning.  That is why I love a rest day, I’m roaring to go on Monday morning!

Have a restful Sunday night!
