Sweat it Out:
5 Minute Elliptical Warm-up
30 Minutes Weight lifting
45 Minutes Elliptical Intervals
Have you heard the statement “21 days makes a habit”? Do you believe it? In most cases I do. I definitely believe 21 days makes you feel more guilty ya slacker. Maybe guilty isn’t the word because I did get in 5 workouts last week, but I felt so good that I wished I’d done even more. I know, pace yourself. I’d even go for 6 days at the gym this week if the kid’s club wasn’t closed for cleaning on Saturday. And I don’t workout on Sunday, that is church and family day for me. Apparently I am a conditional exerciser, I won’t go out in the heat either.
This mornings workout was awesome. I have found with exercise that the next day is even better than the one before. I felt a real Runner’s High this morning. Actually it was an Elliptical High. One day, hopefully it will be an actual Runners High. Point is, I feel great. More focused, more energy, more willing to eat things that fuel my body instead of bogging me down. Whoop, whoop!
Now I better do some knocking on wood because the last time I felt this way I ended up gaining 3 pounds.
Todays workout was “The New Rules of Lifting for Women”, Phase 1, Day 4, Workout B. The last time I listed this workout and pictures I ended up having done a couple of the wrong exercises, so here are some pictures of what went down at the gym today:
Barbell Deadlifts, 2 Sets, 12 Reps, 50 Pounds
Shoulder Press, 2 Sets, 12 Reps, 12.5 Pounds Each

Lateral Wide Grip Pull Down, 2 Sets, 12 Reps, 70 Pounds
Basis Squat, 2 Sets, 12 Reps, 1 Set 20 Pounds, 2 Set Body Weight
Swiss Ball Crunches, 2 Sets, 10 Reps, 22.5 Pounds
After this workout I got on the elliptical and did 45 minutes of cardio. About half way through my workout an elderly gentleman got on the machine next to me. He smelled like after shave, like the same one that my Grandpa Watters use to wear. I’m sure the desk attendee thought I was a weirdo when I walked out of the gym with my eyes tearing up. It’s crazy how even after around 16 years that he has been gone, I still remember exactly how he smelled.
Is there a particular smell that reminds you of anything?
What’s your favorite summertime fruit?
